Fewer vaccinations were reported compared to an average business day in Austria. Exactly 59,000 doses administered were added on Saturday to reach the total now more than five million. In total, 3,591,408 people received at least a partial vaccination, according to E-vaccine data. Thus, another prominent mark in vaccinations was surpassed over the weekend, with more than 40 percent (40.3) of the total population vaccinated. Of these, 1,489,265, or 16.7 percent of Austria’s population, have already been fully immunized.
Of the population aged 85 and older, 72.4 percent have been vaccinated for the first time and 63.5 percent have also been vaccinated for the second time. The oldest citizens have already recently been overtaken by the next age groups in terms of first vaccinations: 79.3 percent of 75- to 84-year-olds and 76.1 percent of 65- to 74-year-olds. Among 55- to 64-year-olds in Austria, 63.7 percent have received their first vaccination, compared with 46.2 percent in the 45- to 54-year-old age group and as many as one-third (33.9 percent) among 35- to 44-year-olds.
